Conversion of a Barge into a Self-Elevating Work Platform
Our company undertook the complete hydraulic conversion of a barge for canal excavation operations, significantly upgrading the capabilities of the floating platform. The project included the installation of four self-elevating support legs with high-powered hydraulic cylinders, along with new controls and monitoring instruments. The result is a reliable and fully controlled work platform designed to operate safely and precisely on demanding engineering projects.
Project Description
Our company undertook the engineering, design, construction and installation of a complete hydraulic system on a barge intended for canal excavation operations and demanding projects in aquatic environments.
The project presented a complex technical challenge, requiring a combination of engineering precision, durability under harsh conditions and a high level of operational reliability.
As part of the project, the platform was converted through the addition of four vertical support legs equipped with high-powered hydraulic cylinders. These allow the barge to be safely elevated, anchored and stabilised during operations.
A new hydraulic control system was also designed and installed, comprising modern controls, precision valves and highly sensitive monitoring instruments. The system enables the operator to control all movements of the support legs and the remaining hydraulic systems with precision.
